What does a birthday mean to you?
The norm would be to celebrate the day the person came into this world isn't it?
I mean.. its their BIRTH day right??!!!
I on the other hand have a slightly different perception.
To me, it would be to celebrate and to GIVE THANKS to the MOTHER who gave birth to the person. Hehehe.
You see.. on this very same day, 7 years ago, I gave birth to my son... BIG G.
And I will always remember it for as long as I live.
I celebrate not only his birthday, but also I celebrate because I am the person who GAVE BIRTH to him.
I celebrate the 9 months I carried him painfully yet rewardingly.
(yeah, my fave hang out during my pregnancy was the toilet bowl... I had morning sickness whole day for 6 whole months!!!)
I celebrate the suffering I had gone through my hard pregnancy.
(that's why I quit my job and became a SAHM in the first place... a decision I will never regret!)
I celebrate the C-sect cut I had to endure getting him into this world.
(I still feel the pain of the incision esp when the weather is cold)
I celebrate the day I first held him in my arms and fed him with my tender breast.
(Oh breastfeeding is such a joy!!)
I celebrate having my first born child.
So to me, it should be to celebrate both the CHILD & MOTHER :)
That's why everytime MY own birthday comes, I celebrate it with my MOM as often as I can. Though it can be a lil hard now that she is residing in US.
But I make sure she is a part of my celebration.
At least a phone call or a video chat.
I celebrate and GIVE THANKS to her for without her, I wouldn't be in this world :)
So thank you GOD & Thank you MOM ... I love you !!!
And to my dearest BIG G... Happy Birthday my dearest son.
Wishing all your dreams come true :)
Love you to bits !!
